Works anywhere in WA
the dish can see the sky.

Our depot is in Cloverdale. The dish itself works across the whole state, from Perth metro to the Kimberley, off the coast, and well into the rest of the country. Below is what to actually expect, where it works, and the handful of spots where it won't.

Where it definitely works

Almost every job our renters take it on.

The rule is simple: the dish needs a clear view of the sky and no permanent obstructions overhead. In practice that covers almost every spot in WA people actually go.
  • The whole WA outback

From Perth metro to Esperance, Karratha, Broome, Kalgoorlie, Exmouth, Kununurra. Open paddocks, beaches, station country, gravel tracks, river camps.

  • All major mining and ag regions

Pilbara, Goldfields, Mid West, Wheatbelt, Kimberley. We've shipped kits to swap rosters across all of them.

  • Coastal and inland WA

South-west coast, the Margaret River wineries, Albany down south, up through Geraldton and the Coral Coast, into the Pilbara and the Top End.

  • Festivals and events

One dish handles hundreds of simultaneous users on the Unlimited plan. Tested in real WA event conditions.

  • Most national parks

Most WA NPs are fine. The few exceptions are dense-canopy sites where the dish can't see the sky (see below).

  • Marine, with the right plan

Boats and yachts past the 12 nautical mile limit, on a separate Starlink Maritime subscription. See marine note below.

Where it might struggle

Plan around these few spots.

Starlink needs a clear line of sight to the sky. These are the spots where you should plan ahead, not the kit's failure modes, just physics.
  • Deep canyons and sheer rock walls

Karijini gorges, parts of Kalbarri, deep ravines anywhere. The dish can see less than half the sky from inside one. Set up at the rim or campsite, not down in the gorge.

  • Dense rainforest canopy

Most of WA is open enough to be fine, but under thick canopy (some Mitchell Plateau sites, deep Walpole karri forest) expect drops.

  • Inside metal-roofed structures

The dish has to be outside with sky overhead. A tarp is fine, a tin shed is not.

  • Extreme weather

Heavy rain and dust storms can briefly slow throughput. Speeds normalise within minutes once the front passes. The low-earth-orbit design is genuinely better here than older satellite tech.

Heading somewhere on this list? Email us the trip plan before booking, we'll tell you straight up whether it's worth the hire.

Marine variant

Boats and yachts off the WA coast.

Past the 12 nautical mile limit you need a separate Starlink Maritime subscription on top of standard land-based service. Premium tier, hardware engineered for marine conditions, higher cost.

We can advise on the setup. Mention "marine" in your enquiry and we'll quote accordingly.

Before you book
